Our Pre-Kindergarten programme fosters creativity, communication, and social skills, creating a strong sense of community and belonging, while experienced educators provide personalized care in vibrant classrooms.

Arrival Time
Upon arrival, children will carry out their routine tasks to develop self-management skills: taking off their shoes and placing them on the dedicated shelf, taking out their snack box, water bottle and diapers, and putting their backpack away.
Classroom Play Exploration
The children will have a choice to select from a variety of learning engagements available throughout their classroom. Teachers and EAs will guide and support children to explore various activities and to encourage children to integrate different learning experiences. Children may also choose to socialise with their friends in the role play area or library corner. Classroom play exploration is a fantastic way to promote warm and genuine serve-and-return interactions and nurture strong relationships between children and their educators.
Opening Circle Time
Circle time is a key moment for children to build a sense of belonging and contribution to their classroom community. From looking at the register, to singing songs, or sharing a story, students learn to be an active member of their class. Adults will work and learn collaboratively with the children through active listening, discussion and reflection.
Sensory Exploration
The sensory area invites children to explore various visual, tactile, auditory, taste and olfactory provocations. These sessions not only develop fine and gross motor skills, but also increases attention and focus, supports emotional regulation, and promotes cognitive development through problem-solving, exploration and experimentation.
Movement Time
Movement time is a key opportunity to work on large body movements and develop overall body strength, coordination and flexibility, all the while promoting social interactions and cognitive growth. Movement time includes a mix of free play and guided activities such as cooperation games, obstacle courses, and fine motor activities such as throwing and grasping.
Closing Circle Time
The final circle time is dedicated to Mandarin activities twice a week, and is also a key moment to reflect on the day, their learning, and to bring closure to the session.

As our kindergarten life is coming to an end, let me really thank all the teachers, especially Miss Ivy and Miss Valerie Lagarde, to express our most sincere gratitude and respect to you for your selfless dedication and patient guidance to Kenji. And Kenji also enjoys the wonderful time at different events.
Kenji was a blank slate before attending class. Through years of preschool teaching, he has transformed from a child who had no understanding of rules or the English language into someone who can attentively listen to others and communicate with them in English. This is entirely thanks to the dedicated teaching in ESF preschool program, which has allowed Kenji to thrive and grow!

I can feel that the teachers in ESF Pre-K are warm and caring. My daughter always calls her teachers names at home and she loves to play with them at school. Through gentle movement and mindful breathing, children begin to understand how to regulate their emotions, transition from busy energy to calm, and practice patience and self-control.
They also enjoy learning playful, kid-friendly poses, like ticking like a clock, crawling like a cat, and flying like a butterfly, which helps them follow directions, improve motor skills, and gain confidence as they try something new.

What an incredible, action-packed week of growth and giggles in our Pre-K classroom as we celebrated the magic of spring!
We kicked off our learning journey with "egg-cellent" sensory bins that helped us practice color sorting, counting, and fine motor skills, followed by creative bunny-ear crafting sessions where every student let their imagination run wild. We also embraced the beautiful weather with a nature-inspired spring scavenger hunt to observe new buds and bugs, and we wrapped up the week with a high-energy "bunny hop" obstacle course that kept everyone active and laughing. It has been such a joy to watch these little learners explore, create, and discover the wonders of the season together through so much hands-on fun!

How we express ourselves matters, especially in the early years! 🌟 Drama is a powerful form of self-expression, and we have just started our drama exploration with so much excitement.🎭
The children began with reading a story together, then choosing their roles, putting on costumes, and acting out their favorite characters. 🧘♀️✨ Yoga in the early years is more than just stretching, it supports growing kids in so many ways, including building body awareness, developing coordination and balance, and strengthening muscles and flexibility in a fun, age-appropriate way. Through gentle movement and mindful breathing, children begin to understand how to regulate their emotions, transition from busy energy to calm, and practice patience and self-control.
They also enjoy learning playful, kid-friendly poses, like ticking like a clock, crawling like a cat, and flying like a butterfly, which helps them follow directions, improve motor skills, and gain confidence as they try something new.
